Buddie Bargain, Scanez Elect, Top Sprite and Blingzilla were slow to begin.  Ultimate Conor crossed in soon after the start checking Lakeview Miss.  Scanez Elect, Top Sprite and Blingzilla collided on the first turn checking all three greyhounds.  Scanez Elect and Top Sprite collided in the back straight.  Le Doyen checked off Ultimate Conor in the back straight.  Buddie Bargain and Blingzilla collided on the home turn.

In The Trolley, Van Damm and Candy Rose were slow to begin.  Misty Sannette, Zipping Comet, In The Trolley and Van Damm collided on the first turn checking Van Damm and Rubrica.  In The Trolley and Van Damm collided on the first turn.  Zipping Comet and Van Damm collided approaching the second turn.  Zipping Comet checked off Misty Sannette in the back straight.  Zipping Comet and Misty Sannette collided approaching the fourth turn.  In The Trolley checked off Van Damm on the home turn.  Rubrica marred Candy Rose approaching the winning post.

Rubrica was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left hind foot spike wound and a right eye injury, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Collins, the handler of the greyhound Rubrica regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post.  Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Rubrica with marring.  Mr. Collins pleaded not guilty to the charge, Rubrica was found guilty and suspended  for 28 days at Traralgon and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Halo Express was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound was found to have soreness & bruising to the right hind metatarsal, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Churchill, the trainer of Rozehill Beth regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Rozehill Beth last raced on 02/05/2016.  Mr. Churchill stated that the greyhound was returning to race after a seasonal spell.

Loyal Miss was quick to begin.  Johnny Wolf was slow to begin.  Rozehill Beth and Lauren Kasey collided approaching the first turn.   Milly's Way and Loyal Miss collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Milly's Way galloped on Loyal Miss on the first turn checking Milly's Way, Loyal Miss, Johnny Wolf, Lauren Kasey and Magnificent Pete.  Johnny Wolf galloped on Loyal Miss approaching the home turn checking Johnny Wolf severely checking Loyal Miss which subsequently tailed off.  Usain Gilbert and Milly O'Muffin collided on the home turn.

Loyal Miss was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right monkey muscle injury and a right hind triangle muscle injury, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Stormy Reign was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left shoulder injury and a right hind back muscle injury, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Busta Voe was quick to begin.  Nero Rose and Run Ollie Run were slow to begin.  King Mischief and Miss Pepperoni collided on the first turn checking Miss Pepperoni.  Nero Rose and Run Ollie Run collided on the first turn.  Miss Pepperoni and Dessie Walnut collided entering the back straight.  Ava's Shadow and Busta Voe collided approaching the second turn.  Busta Voe clipped the heels of Dr. Double Malt on the second turn checking Dr. Double Malt.  Ava's Shadow and Miss Pepperoni collided approaching the home turn checking Miss Pepperoni and severely checking Dessie Walnut.

Ava's Shadow was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained split webbing to the left hindleg, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from King Mischief - the winner of the event.

Acquitted was a late scratching at 4:10pm on Veterinary advice (GAR 37) (fleas).  No stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate of clearance, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Desaubin, the trainer of Lovey regarding the length of time the greyound has had between races.  Lovey last raced on 16/05/2016.  Mr. Desaubin stated that the greyhound was returnig to racing following a condition to the foot.

MEETING COMMENTS:

Track Curator, Mr. A. Inger advised that the track was deeply harrowed on Wednesday 24th August, 2016.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Bernmar Thunder trialled over the 395m from box 2, weight 31.3kgs, the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 23:41, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 6 lengths.  Bernmar Thunder was Cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Vashta Nerada trialled over the 395m from box 7, weight 31.8kgs, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 23:41, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 3 lengths.  Vashta Nerada was Cleared.
