Tipping Woody was slow to begin.. McNeo was checked off Grand Cayman soon after the start. Desert Haze and Permafrost collided approaching the first turn. Tipping Woody and McNeo collided approaching the first turn checking Tipping Woody and severely checking McNeo. Grand Cayman and Tiger Bobby collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds. Desert Haze, McNeo and Downing Street collided in the home straight checking Desert Haze, McNeo, Downing Street and Tiger Bobby. Downing Street and McNeo collided approaching the winning post.

The judges inadvertantly semaphored the incorrect numbers of 7-1 which were corrected to 1 9 4 7 prior to the all clear being given.
