Smashing Wild was slow to begin. Gardot crossed to the inside soon after the start checking Shezza's Nitro and Hotlips Matilda. Hotlips Matilda and Smashing Wild collided approaching the first turn checking Hotlips Matilda. Kraken Zuri galloped on the heels of Gardot on the first turn checking Kraken Zuri, Gardot and Dark Chance. Shezza's Nitro and Gardot collided on the home turn checking both greyhounds. Shezza's Nitro and Gardot collided several times in the home straight checking both greyhounds.
