Up and Adam was a late scratching at 10.07am by order of Stewards.

Stewards spoke to Mr Tom Mitchell, previous trainer of the greyhound  Up And Adam, in regards to the late scratching of Up And Adam. Mr Mitchell stated that the greyhound was transferred out of his kennel on Saturday 20 August 2016 and as nominations for the meeting had not closed he was not aware that the greyhound would gain a place in the event. Mr Mitchell stated that when he became aware of the greyhound being in tonight's meeting, he attempted to scratch the greyhound but was unable to do so, due to it no longer being on his kennel return. When asked what actions he then took, Mr Mitchell stated that he was unable to contact the greyhounds new trainer, and in the mean time the greyhound had been "scratched" from his kennel board and he was under the assumption that the greyhound had been officially scratched on Fast Track. Mr Mitchell further stated that when he became aware after scratching time this morning that the greyhound was still in the field, he made contact with GRV and advised them that the greyhound was no longer in his care. Stewards noted the explanation of Mr Mitchell.

Asa Hard Knox was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right thigh, a torn left foreleg nail, and an abrasion to the left foreleg, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Brazen Escape and no illness was detected. The greyhound was a late scratching at 6:31pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Ms. T. Womann was fined the sum of $100.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr. L. Johnson, the trainer of Cowboy Love regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Cowboy Love last raced on 30th December 2015. Mr. Johnson stated that the greyhound had recovered from illness and was then spelled. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Cowboy Love trialled over the 390m from box one, weight 33.6kg, the greyhound was placed second in a field of four. The time of the trial was 25.55, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 1.00 length. Cowboy Love was Cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Ultimate Cash trialled over the 390m from box eight, weight 33.0kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of four. The time of the trial was 25.55, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 5.25 lengths. Ultimate Cash was Not Cleared.
