Beers On Us and Commander were quick to begin.
Dr. Frankie was slow to begin.
Satisfy, Doyen Ruler and Destini Mantello collided soon after the start checking Doyen Ruler, Destini Mantello and Raweenie. Commander and Beers On Us collided soon after the start. Satisfy checked off Beers On Us approaching the first turn. Doyen Ruler and Raweenie collided on the first turn. Commander eased on the first turn checking Beers On Us. Satisfy eased on the first turn checking Dr. Frankie. Dr Frankie checked off Beers On Us approaching the home turn checking Doyen Ruler. Beers On Us and Raweenie collided several times on the home turn checking both greyhounds. Crump's Legend and Commander collided in the home straight.
Stewards spoke to Mr J Chircop the trainer of the greyhound Satisfy regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Satisfy was vetted and re-vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound,no stand down period was imposed. Acting underGAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Satisfy with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr J Chircop pleaded guilty to the charge, Satisfy was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks)pursuant toGAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
