Steward's Report
India Pale was quick to begin. Linda's Gift was slow to begin. Slipaway Anna and Glen Quagmire collided approaching the first turn. Firing Point, Slipaway Anna and Glen Quagmire collided approaching the first turn checking Slipaway Anna and Glen Quagmire. Fawn Pursuit, Slipaway Anna, Starvin' Seagull and Glen Quagmire collided approaching the first turn checking Slipaway Anna and Glen Quagmire. Glen Quagmire faltered on the first turn and tailed off as a result. Fawn Pursuit, Starvin' Seagull and India Pale collided on the first turn. India Pale and Slipaway Anna collided entering the home straight causing both greyhounds to race wide.
Stewards spoke to Mr. E. Barsby regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Linda's Gift. Stewards directed that Linda's Gift be boxed first in future events.
Glen Quagmire was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Lloyd, the handler of the greyhound Glen Quagmire regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Glen Quagmire with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Lloyd pleaded guilty to the charge. Glen Quagmire was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
