A pre race sample was taken from Aston Harvey.
Vermont was quick to begin. It's A Fling and Jeremiah Jack were slow to begin. It's A Bling and Aston Harvey collided soon after the start. Paddy Macs, Destini Soprano and Destini Doll collided soon after the start. Zero Knockin' and Aston Harvey collided on the first turn. Destini Soprano, Destini Doll and It's A Fling collided on the first turn. Aston Harvey and Vermont collided on the third turn. Destini Doll and Vermont collided in the home straight.
Vermont was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
A sample was taken from Zero Knockin', the winner of the event.
Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Hamilten, trainer of the greyhound Vermont regarding the greyhounds performance in the concluding stages of the event. Mr. Hamilten stated that he has trialled the greyhound over 600 mt at the Ballarat track prior to this event. Mr. Hamilten also stated that the greyhound has performed over similer distance's in the past. Stewards noted Mr Hamilten comments.
