Steward's Report
Cee Jay Whim was a late scratching at 4:02am due to injury (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
Mr. C. Croft, trainer of Sir Murray declared a new weight of 31.6kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Sir Murray last raced at 32.8kgs.
Sir Murray, All Inn Tops, Claretown Sam, Eaglehawk Beffa and Minnesota collided soon after the start checking All Inn Tops and Claretown Sam. Remember Train, Sir Murray and Eaglehawk Beffa collided entering the back straight checking Sir Murray which raced wide as a result. Claretown Sam checked off Sir Murray in the back straight. Eaglehawk Beffa and Minnesota collided approaching the second turn checking Eaglehawk Beffa. Bopa Allen and All Inn Tops collided entering the home straight. All Inn Tops marred the running of Bopa Allen in the home straight. Sir Murray raced wide in the home straight.
All Inn Tops was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right monkey muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Duncan, the trainer of the greyhound All Inn Tops regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1), stewards charged All Inn Tops with marring. Mr. Duncan pleaded guilty to the charge. All Inn Tops was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
