Zorko, Bomb The Surf and Poetic Premier were slow to begin. Miss Hot Vegas and Bomb The Surf collided soon after the start. Dr. Ezechiel crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Miss Hot Vegas. Mepunga Cotchin crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Bomb The Surf. Miss Hot Vegas checked off the heels of Dr. Ezechiel approaching the first turn checking Mepunga Cotchin. Miss Hot Vegas checked off the heels of Ali The Great approaching the first turn. Bomb The Surf and Mepunga Cotchin collided several times approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking Bomb The Surf. Ali The Great and Poetic Premier collided on the first turn. Bomb The Surf and Miss Hot Vegas collided entering the back straight checking Miss Hot Vegas. Poetic Premier faltered approaching the home turn and tailed off.
Poetic Premier was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury.
Stewards spoke to Mr.K.Mugavin, the trainer of the greyhound Poetic Premier. Acting in accordance with GAR 71 (Cramp), Stewards directed that the greyhound must perform a Satisfactory Trial before any future nomination will be accepted.
