Gidra Joe was slow to begin.
Holy Rioli, Frank Bale, All Cool Kate and Rusty Mahogany collided soon after the start. Holy Rioli and Mad Mons collided approaching the first turn checking Holy Rioli, Frank Bale and Gidra Joe. Dazee Agogo, All Cool Kate and Rusty Mahogany collided on the first turn. Miss Promiscuous, All Cool Kate, Rusty Mahogany and Mad Mons collided approaching the home turn checking Rusty Mahogany, causing All Cool Kate to stumble and lose ground as a result. Holy Rioli checked off Frank Bale approaching the home turn. Frank Bale and Rusty Mahogany collided in the home straight. Gidra Joe raced wide in the home straight.
Gidra Joe was vetted and after being revetted following event 7, it was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the monkey muscle, pencil muscle and thigh, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
