Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. A. King, trainer of Tricky Tezza with regard to the length of time the greyhound has had between racing. Tricky Tezza last raced 11th March 2015. Mr. King stated that Tricky Tezza is returning to racing after suffering an injury and then spelled. Stewards noted Mr. King's comments.
Red Hot Millie was quick to begin. Kraken Blaze was slow to begin. Literal checked off Bubble Has Burst approaching the first turn. Tricky Tezza, Smokester and Dr. Gwendoline collided approaching the first turn. Kraken Blaze and Smokester collided on the home turn. Bubble Has Burst checked off Dr. Gwendoline in the home straight and fell as a result checking Literal which tailed off. Kraken Blaze marred the running of Smokester in the home straight.
Kraken Blaze was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Literal was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right tricep. A stand down period of 7 days was imposed.
Bubble Has Burst was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. N. Jones, the handler of the greyhound Kraken Blaze regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight . Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Kraken Blaze with marring. Mr. Jones pleaded guilty to the charge, Kraken Blaze was found guilty and suspended the greyhound for 12 months (all tracks) and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(c), before any future nomination will be accepted.
