Winning Ways and Barnes Banana were slow to begin.  Yesteryear, Farah Starlight and Lani Bale collided soon after the start.  Winning Ways galloped on the heels of Farah Starlight approaching the first turn.  Winning Ways checked off Farah Starlight on the first turn.  Winning Ways and Rusty Cove collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Yesteryear and Lani Bale collided on the first turn.  Destini Mirror raced wide approaching the winning post

Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Pattinson , the trainer of Verdict regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Verdict last raced on 8th April 2016.  Mr. Pattinson stated that Verdict was resuming racing following a right groin injury.

Talanjee Stiff was slow to begin.  Morson Senor and Lektra Uncut collided soon after the start.  Morson Senor and Verdict collided approaching the first turn. Straw Hat Luffy, Verdict and Neville Bale collided on the first turn checking Verdict, Neville Bale and Talanjee Stiff.  Il Bacaro and Morson Senor collided in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to handler Mr. A. Julian  and reminded him of his responsibilities after it was established he had failed to arrange a catcher for Fly As One.

Scenic Shot was a late scratching at 9:58am due to a  right hock injury GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Dunne, the trainer of Irish Asteria regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Irish Asteria last raced on 31st March 2016.  Mr. Dunne stated that  the greyhound was resuming racing following an injury to the right hock.

Allen Fable was quick to begin.  Next Grange was slow to begin.  Pingu, Zipping Jane and Irish Asteria collided soon after the start checking Irish Asteria.  Two Time, Pingu and Zipping Jane collided approaching the first turn checking Pingu; Pingu collided with Next Grange as a result.  Zipping Jane checked off Two Time on the first turn checking Next Grange and Pingu.  Pingu and Next Grange collided approaching the home turn.
