Due to a malfunction the lure failed to move at the beginning of the race. Greyhounds were removed from the boxes and re-vetted. All greyhounds were declared fit to race. The start of the event was rescheduled to 4.14p.m. with the remaining races on the program put back one race. Race 12 rescheduled to 7.32p.m.
Lord Kitchener, Nikon Bale and Magic Pirate were slow to begin. Eaglehawk Beffa went up with the lids at box rise and was very slow to begin (3 lengths). Lichfield Angel and Nikon Bale collided soon after the start, checking Nikon Bale. Lichfield Angel and Nikon Bale collided approaching the first turn, checking Lichfield Angel. Nikon Bale, Eaglehawk Beffa and Lord Kitchener collided on the first turn, severely checking Eaglehawk Beffa and Lord Kitchener. Eaglehawk Beffa and Lichfield Angel collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn, checking both greyhounds.
