Lumumba was slow to begin. Seabrook Girl and Kripke collided approaching the 300m mark. Senor Vee Bee and Night Phantom crossed to the outside approaching the 250m mark. Night Phantom and Kripke collided approaching the 250m mark, and again at the 250m mark. Senor Vee Bee and Night Phantom collided at the 250m mark. Unleash Hell checked off Surfin' Scotsman at the 200m mark, causing Surfin' Scotsman to fall, checking Lumumba. Lumumba and Seabrook Girl collided at the 100m mark.
Surfin' Scotsman was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained damage to the lower spine and was sent for xrays. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
