Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Fothergill, the trainer of He's Zarr Badger regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. He's Zarr Badger last raced on 1st January, 2016. Mr. Fothergill stated that He's Zarr Badger is returning to racing from a change of kennel.
Stewards spoke to Mr. F. Zeinert, the trainer of Blue Quartette regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Blue Quartette last raced on 18th February, 2016. Mr. Zeinert stated that Blue Quartette is returning to racing after being on season.
Mr. B. Smith, trainer of Paranorman declared a new weight of 34.4 kg's for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Paranorman last raced at 35.5 kg's.
A pre race sample was taken from Paranorman.
Lido's Boy and Ninetymile Bill collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn. Lido's Boy, Ninetymile Bill and Blue Quartette collided on the first turn, checking Blue Quartette. Miss Georgia May checked off Georgie Best on the first turn. Paranorman crossed to the rail on the first turn, checking Georgie Best. Lido's Boy and Ninetymile Bill collided approaching the home turn, checking Ninetymile Bill. Lido's Boy, He's Zarr Badger and Feel The Love collided on the home turn, checking Feel The Love and He's Zarr Badger.
Stewards spoke to handler Ms N.Perkins, regarding her difficulty in boxing the greyhound Ninetymile Bill. Stewards directed that Ninetymile Bill be boxed first in future events.
Meeting Comments:
Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr P.Kaltsidis, the handler of Lady Babylon regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Lady Babylon last raced on 31 October, 2015. Mr Kaltsidis stated that the greyhound has been on season. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Lady Babylon trialled over the 390m from box 4, weight 30.3kg, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 22.30, the greyhound won by a margin of 4 lengths. Lady Babylon was cleared.
