Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Wetzels, the trainer of Super Duper Gal regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Super Duper Gal last raced on 23rd december, 2015. Mr. Wetzels stated that Super Duper Gal is returning to racing from a stopper injury.

Mr. S. Wetzels, trainer of Super Duper Gal declared a new weight of 28.0 kg's for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Super Duper Gal last raced at 29.8 kg's.

Maine Heart was quick to begin. Super Duper Gal was slow to begin. Heineken Girl, Jack's Miss, Spring Top and Shazza's Gift collided soon after the start, checking Jack's Miss and Spring Top. Heineken Girl checked off Ramrod on the first turn. Jack's Miss and Heineken Girl collided on the first turn, checking Heineken Girl, Shazza's Gift checked off Maine Heart on the first turn. All Inn Miles was slow to begin. Midnight Law, Schmoo and Code Breaker collided soon after the start. Elite Stress, Midnight Law, Schmoo and All Inn Miles collided approaching the first turn. Schmoo checked off Arome Peche on the first turn. Logic Lad and Arome Peche collided approaching the home turn. Arome Peche galloped on the heels of Elite Stress on the home turn, checking Schmoo, Logic Lad and severely checking Elite Stress which stumbled. Elite Stress and Midnight Law collided entering the home straight. 

Elite Stress was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to the back and left hock. No stand down period was imposed. 

The start of this race was re-scheduled from 4.32 to 4.34 PM as requested by Sky Channel.

Classic Moments was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration to the left stifle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Tycoon diamond was a late scratching at 2.09 PM on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to dehydration. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Smokey Whispers was quick to begin. Mental Burst and Daisy Bale were slow to begin. Nuggy Burger, Don's Collision and Burst Of Magic collided soon after the start. Burst Of Magic and Daisy Bale collided on the first turn. Mental Burst and Don's Collision collided on the first turn. Mental Burst, Don's Collision, Zipping Noel and Daisy Bale collided on the second turn, checking Don's Collision and Daisy Bale. Zipping Noel raced wide in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Fothergill, the trainer of He's Zarr Badger regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. He's Zarr Badger last raced on 1st January, 2016. Mr. Fothergill stated that He's Zarr Badger is returning to racing from a change of kennel. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. F. Zeinert, the trainer of Blue Quartette regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Blue Quartette last raced on 18th February, 2016. Mr. Zeinert stated that Blue Quartette is returning to racing after being on season.

Mr. B. Smith, trainer of Paranorman declared a new weight of 34.4 kg's for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Paranorman last raced at 35.5 kg's.

Stewards spoke to handler Ms N.Perkins, regarding her difficulty in boxing the greyhound Ninetymile Bill. Stewards directed that Ninetymile Bill be boxed first in future events.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr P.Kaltsidis, the handler of Lady Babylon regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Lady Babylon last raced on 31 October, 2015. Mr Kaltsidis stated that the greyhound has been on season. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Lady Babylon trialled over the 390m from box 4, weight 30.3kg, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 22.30, the greyhound won by a margin of 4 lengths. Lady Babylon was cleared.
