Steward's Report
Jay Kay Be was a late scratching at 8.51am due to injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certifcate before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards broke the seal to the race bay for this event at 5.51pm to check the condition of the greyhound Galloping Ashley. Galloping Ashley was vetted and passed fit to race.
Rusty Mia and Shanks Very Much were quick to begin. Harsh Miles was slow to begin. Dr. Balboa and Pingu collided soon after the start checking Pingu. Dr. Balboa and Pingu collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn checking Dr. Balboa. Dr. Balboa was checked off Harsh Miles entering the home straight.
Meeting comments:
Satisfactory trial results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr. Doug Blake the trainer of Kay Cee Smack regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Kay Cee Smack last raced on 22/03/15. Mr. Blake stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a right hock injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A Kay Cee Smack trialled over 315 metres from box 1, weight 34.2kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 18.74 secs, the greyhound won by a margin of 5.25 lengths. Kay Cee Smack was cleared.
