Paez, the trainer of the greyhound Cincinnati Lass regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight.  Cincinnati Lass was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to its right achillies.  A 3 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Cincinnati Lass with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Paez pleaded guilty to the charge.  Cincinnati Lass was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Lunar Magic was slow to begin.  Challis Jack was very slow to begin (3 lengths).  Noaki Princess, Mitch's Delight, Label This and Another Hope collided soon after the start checking Noaki Princess, Label This and Lunar Magic.  Lunar Magic checked off Label This on the first turn checking Noaki Princess.  Challis Jack and Select Scott collided on the first turn checking Select Scott.  Label This crossed to the outside entering the home straight checking Heidi's Jewel.

Stewards noted the muzzle of Golden Hand became dislodged during the running of the event. 

Mr. B. Iredale, representative of Arejay Smokey declared a new weight of 33.1kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Arejay Smokey last raced at 34.2kgs.

Arejay Smokey, Pacific Impulse and Melody Pond were quick to begin.  High Commando was slow to begin.  Big Burkey checked off Diamond Maxine soon after the start checking High Commando.  Arejay Smokey faltered approaching the first turn and lost considerable ground as a result.  Diamond Maxine and Melody Pond collided on the first turn checking Melody Pond.  Stroke Of Genius and Pacific Impulse collided approaching the home turn checking Pacific Impulse.  Black Selandra and High Commando collided on the home turn checking Black Selandra.  Stroke Of Genius and Diamond Maxine collided entering the home straight checking Diamond Maxine.  Black Selandra raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight.

Arejay Smokey was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left backk muscle.  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Hardy, the trainer of Noddy's Knocka regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Noddy's Knocka last raced on 29th Feburary, 2016 and is returing to racing following a right tricep injury.

A pre-race sample was taken from Brindle Audrey.

Noddy's Knocka and Bronelly Duke were slow to begin.  Bronelly Duke checked off Sophie's Pride soon after the start checking Noddy's Knocka.  Brindle Audrey crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Gutsy Manolis and Adara Lad.  Sophie's Pride, Kev's Choice and Happy Hippy collided on the first turn checking Kev's Choice and Happy Hippy.  Noddy's Knocka lost ground approaching the home turn.  Bronelly Duke raced wide on the home turn. Gutsy Manolis and Sophie's Pride collided on the home turn.  Happy Hippy and Gutsy Manolis collided approaching the winning post.

Noddy's Knocka was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 11, it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Hardy, the trainer of the greyhound Noddy's Knocka regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1), stewards charged Noddy's Knocka with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr. Hardy pleaded guilty to the charge. Noddy's Knocka was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Cruella Deville and Our Miss Penny were slow to begin.  Fiesty Ivy galloped on the heels of Simple soon after the start checking both greyhounds.  Cruella Deville, Jada's Joy, Fiesty Ivy and Simple collided on the first turn checking Simple and severely checking Fiesty Ivy.  Our Miss Penny checked off Sindy's Girl approaching the home turn.  Simple checked off Our Miss Penny on the home turn.  Try Me tired approaching the winning post.

Jay Kay Be went up with the lids at box rise and was very slow to begin (3 lengths).  Dr. Ripped, Hit The Beat, Sweet Amber and Galloping Ashley collided approaching the first turn checking Hit The Beat and Sweet Amber.  Dr, Ripped, Galloping Ashley, Harsh Miles and Dr. Balboa collided on the first turn checking Galloping Ashley and Harsh Miles.  Hit The Beat and Sweet Amber collided on the home turn.  Hit The Beat checked off Sweet Amber entering the home straight and lost ground as a result.  

Hit The Beat was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right chest muscle.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Satisfactory Trial Results

Thunder Flame trialled over the 400 metre distance from box 1, weight 33.2kgs.  The greyhound was placed 1st, in a field of 6.  The time of the trial was 23.25.  The greyhound won by a margin of 3.25 lengths.  Thunder Flame was cleared.

Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Ferguson, the trainer of Fastest Leap regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Fastest Leap last raced on 25th July 2015.  Mr. Ferguson stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after being spelled.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Fastest Leap trialled over the 400 metre distance from box 4, weight 31.0kgs.  The greyhound fell approaching the first turn, in a field of 6.  The time of the trial was 23.25.  Fastest Leap was not cleared.

Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Ferguson, the trainer of Ruff Edges regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Ruff Edges last raced on 10th October 2015.  Mr. Ferguson stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after being spelled.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Ruff Edges trialled over the 400 metre distance from box 6, weight 32.0kgs.  The greyhound was placed 6th, in a field of 6.  The time of the trial was 23.25.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 10 lengths.  Ruff Edges was cleared.

My Lady Limonite trialled over the 400 metre distance from box 7, weight 27.2kgs.  The greyhound was placed 3rd, in a field of 6.  The time of the trial was 23.25.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 3.75 lengths.  My Lady Limonite was cleared.
