Steward's Report
No Diggity was quick to begin. Renberg and Chancy Be Smooth were slow to begin.
Pretty Bale and Walt Bale collided soon after the start. Pretty Bale, Chancy Be Smooth and Walt Bale collided on the first turn. Shanlyn Jed checked off Avondale Al approaching the second turn. Walt Bale checked off Chancy Be Smooth on the second turn. Shanlyn Jed checked off Renberg entering the back straight. Renberg clipped the heels of Avondale Al approaching the home turn. Avondale Al veered in and marred No Diggity on the home turn.
Avondale Al was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained left hind spike wound injury, no stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mrs. J. Greenough, the handler of the greyhound Avondale Al regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Avondale Al with marring. Mrs. J. Greenough pleaded guilty to the charge, Avondale Al was found guilty and suspened for 28 days at Sandown and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks). pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
