Steward's Report
Coconut Felipe was quick to begin. Nana's Rebel was slow to begin.
Dance The Marjen (visibly eased and turned head outwards turning into the home straight) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left back muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. David Jensen regarding Dance The Marjen's racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Dance The Marjen was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Jensen pleaded guilty to the charge. Dance The Marjen must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Additionally, Stewards opened and adjourned an inquiry into Mr. Jensen's conduct towards Stewards during the abovementioned inquiry into the racing manners of Dance The Marjen.
A post-race urine sample was taken from Coconut Felipe - the winner of the event.
