Steward's Report
Mepunga Pearl and Masai Mara Icon were quick to begin. Mushroom Gravy and Spinner Bait were slow to begin.
Mepunga Pearl marred Twilight Tori on the home turn. Mepunga Pearl underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury reported. Stewards spoke to Mr. James Shaw regarding Mepunga Pearl's racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Mepunga Pearl was charged with marring. Mr. Shaw pleaded guilty to the charge. Mepunga Pearl was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Mushroom Gravy turned it's head outwards on the home turn. Mushroom Gravy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right gracilis muscle injury and left and right carpal sprains. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. Stephen Tabb regarding Mushroom Gravy's racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Mushroom Gravy was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Tabb pleaded guilty to the charge. Mushroom Gravy was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
