Post-race urine and hair samples were taken from Epitomize (1st) and a post-race hair sample was taken from Aussie Can (2nd).
Stewards opened an inquiry into the conduct of Mr Tony Cortese after an incident at the starting boxes. A charge under GAR 165(a) was issued to Mr. Cortese for engaging in conduct that is detrimental to the image, interest and control of greyhound racing. Mr Cortese pleaded not guilty to the charge. Mr Cortese was found guilty and was fined $150 with $100 suspended for 12 months pending no further breaches of this rule. In determining penalty, Stewards took into consideration Mr. Cortese's remorse and record.
