Soda Heather – Late scratching at 14:00 due to not being presented in the required kennelling time (GAR 86 and LR 39). Due to the circumstances surrounding the non–presentation, Trainer Mr Michael Tharle was fined $250.
A pre-race sample was taken from Piranha Shake.
Piranha Shake was quick to begin.

Poholke – Fail to chase – Field of 5, Distance: 400m, Weight: 30.3kg, Box 1, Placed 1st, Time Run 22.340 – Comment: Cleared All Tracks except Sandown.
Paw Bradley – Fail to chase – Field of 5, Distance: 400m, Weight: 35.5kg, Box 2, Placed 3rd, Time Run 22.713 – Comment: Cleared All Tracks except Ballarat.
Oakover Road – Fail to chase – Field of 5, Distance: 400m, Weight: 33.7kg, Box 7, – Comment: Not Cleared, contacted the running rail on the first turn and subsequently pulled up. Oakover Road underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left quadriceps muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
