Need's Luck, Kilty Miss, Ela Mimi, Few Screws Loose and Arvo's Leroy were slow to begin. Few Screws Loose and Arvo's Leroy collided soon after the start, checking Few Screws Loose. Few Screws Loose checked off Ela Mimi approaching the home turn.
Red Flynn slipped its collar whilst parading after the event and needed to be re-secured. Stewards spoke to Mr E. McCormick, trainer of Red Flynn, and reminded him of his responsibilities, namely the need to ensure the collar is secured firmly whilst parading.
