A pre-race sample was taken from Gaskin Bale.
Gaskin Bale was quick to begin. Havana Magic turned in the boxes and was very slow to begin.
Gaskin Bale faltered on the first turn, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have back muscle injuries to both hindlegs. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.
Havana Magic turned in the boxes and took no competitive part in the race, underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Havana Magic was placed on a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 106(1) and pursuant to GAR 132.
