Dewy News and Vinny Dewalt were quick to begin.
Dewy News, racing manners home straight underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re–examined following Race 12. Dewy News was found to have a right triangle muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to representative Mr S Coulson regarding Dewy New’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Dewy News was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr S Coulson pleaded not guilty to the charge. Dewy News was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
