Steward's Report
Mr. David Kerr was issued with a warning under GAR156(f) for negligence, after the greyhound Spicy Piper was placed in the incorrect kennel during the kenneling process. Similarly, Club Officials were reminded of their responsibilities and the matter was referred to the Club Manager.
Fiery Duel was quick to begin. Free Falling was slow to begin.
Galloping Suzie underwent a post-race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr. Ian Dann regarding the racing manners of Galloping Suzie in the home straight. After hearing submissions from Mr. Dann, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, a warning was issued.
Jenny Bale (checked approaching the first turn, faltered and tailed off) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock injury. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.
Following the running of this event, Stewards inspected the track approaching the firts turn and deemed it suitable for racing.
