Sunset Wisp was quick to begin.
Sunset Tantrum (checked turning off the back straight) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hamstring injury and an abrasion to the left fore. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Ascend Gwen (checked turning off the back straight and racing manners approaching the winning post) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the right fore. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative Ms. Ricki Church regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Ascend Gwen was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms. Church pleaded guilty to the charge. Ascend Gwen must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
