Steward's Report
Heyfield Honey was slow to begin.
Famous Club collided with Scotty's Stacy turning out of the front straight first time around, causing Scotty's Stacy to fall. Following the fall, Famous Club pulled up and ran back the reverse way towards the oncoming greyhounds and lure in the home straight, requiring the lure to be pulled up. As such, pursuant to GAR 110, the event was declared a ‘No Race’. All bets are to be refunded. The weights recorded for the greyhounds are void and do not count for the purposes of the weight rule at the greyhounds’ next start. The event was then abandoned, with prizemoney to be split evenly between the greyhounds that competed. Following the event, all greyhounds underwent veterinary examinations.
- Canya Vivi, Bundy Paradise, Heyfield Honey, Mayan Chief and Money Palace were reported to have no apparent injury.
- True Temper was found to have abrasions to the left fore metacarpals and left thigh. No stand down period was imposed.
- Famous Club was reported to have injuries to both back muscles. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative Mr. Jay Harradine regarding Famous Club’s performance and racing manners turning out of the front straight. After hearing submissions from Mr. Harradine, viewing the available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards deemed the performance of Famous Club unsatisfactory. Famous Club must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 129, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
- Scotty's Stacy was found to have a right radius ulna fracture. Scotty's Stacy was humanely euthanised.
