Steward's Report
Celestial Dawn and Cashing Out were quick to begin.
Mad Kev (visibly eased turning into the back straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have no apparent injury. Mr. Orr declined the option to have the greyhound re–examined. Stewards spoke to Mr. Orr regarding Mad Kev’s racing manners turning into the back straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Mad Kev was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Orr pleaded guilty to the charge. Mad Kev was suspended 28 days at Sandown and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards spoke, via telephone, to Mr. Gerry Orr, the trainer of Mad Kev after they left the course today without the permission of Stewards and without having the greyhound examined by the On-Track Veterinarian following the event. Mr. Orr was issued with a warning pursuant to GAR 94(2).
