Cash For Kota and Dr. Ophelia were quick to begin. Western Feel and Junior Ruslie were slow to begin.
Cash For Kota was severely checked approaching the first turn and underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.
Clean And Shine visibly eased and turned it's head inwards in the home straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have right triangle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Adrian Nuttall regarding Clean And Shine’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Clean And Shine was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Nuttall pled guilty to the charge, Clean And Shine was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
