Black Nitrous was slow out. Youngy's Pick and Bounding Wish collided on the first turn. Jedi Lightsabre and Fly O Bonnie collided on the second turn. Youngy's Pick, Time Weaver and Restless Stan collided on the third turn. Time Weaver and Restless Stan collided entering the back straight. Black Nitrous checked off the heels of Bounding Wish approaching the first turn and again on the home turn checking Fly On Bonnie. Restless Stan was vetted following the Event and Dr. Alistair Smith, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right deltoid and soreness to the left wrist. Acting on a recommendation from Dr. Smith, the Stewards will stand Restless Stan down from competing for 5 days. Stewards spoke to Handler, Harry Sarkis (representing Trainer - Carolyn Reinke), regarding the disappointing performance of Restless Stan this evening. Mr. Sarkis told the Stewards that the greyhound had injured its sesamoid at its last start at Wentworth Park and as a result, the greyhound has had little preparation leading into tonight's race. Stewards noted the explanation of Mr. Sarkis and directed that a swab sample be taken from Restless Stan which finished 5th in the Event.
