Steward's Report

A pre race sample was taken from Encounter Bay. Our Fergie was slow out. Ourgirl Judith checked off Surfin' Tiger approaching the first turn checking Token Whirl and severely checking Celtic Token and Our Fergie. Celtic Token, Our Fergie and Ourgirl Judith tailed off as a result. Surfin' Tiger and Encounter Bay collided on the second turn. Encounter Bay and Uno Krystal collided approaching the home turn checking Uno Krystal. Encounter Bay and Surfin' Tiger collided several times in the home straight and approaching the winning post. Celtic Token was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Ourgirl Judith was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right thigh injury, a 10 day stand down penalty was imposed. Our Fergie was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Stewards issued a warning to L C Slattery, the trainer of Our Fergie regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the back straight.
