Side Com was slow to begin. Mystery Rose and Wiccan Ways collided on the first turn checking Mystery Rose. Oddball, Ronald, Flaming Shiraz and Broadway Girl collided on the first turn checking Broadway Girl and severely checking Flaming Shiraz. Oddball and Sterjovski collided approaching the third turn. Flaming Shiraz checked off the heels of Sterjovski approaching the fourth turn. Side Com and Odd ball collided several times from entering the back straight to approaching the home turn. Oddball eased on the home turn and galloped on the heels of Side Com. Mystery Rose veered out and marred the running of Wiccan Ways in the home straight. Oddball was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right fibula injury, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(5), the Stewards charged Oddball with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury) and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial pursuant to GAR 69(6), before any future nomination will be accepted. Mystery Rose was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury. Acting under GAR 69(1)(a) stewards charged Mystery Rose with marring and suspended the greyhound for 28 days at Cranbourne and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory trial(all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
