Flossy Girl was a late scratching at 5:02pm on the advice of the Club's Veterinary Surgeon due to illness. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Maldini Select, Crowdza Clappin and Biggy Rat were slow out. Fantasy Whisper, Georgie's Colour and Crowdza Clappin collided soon after the start. Maldini Select and Georgie's Colour collided approaching the first turn. Maldini Select and Georgie's Colour collided on the first turn checking Maldini Select. Magic Miagi, Liberty and Crowdza Clappin collided on the first turn checking Liberty. Magic Miagi checked off Liberty approaching the home turn. Magic Miagi and Fantasy Whisper collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn. Maldini Select veered in and marred the running of Biggy Rat in the home straight checking Liberty. Magic Miagi faltered approaching the winning post. Magic Miagi was vetted and after being re vetted following event 3 it was reported that the greyhound was found to have general soreness and symptoms of cramp, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Miss K. Gieschen, the trainer of the greyhound Magic Miagi. Acting in accordance with GAR 71 (Cramp), Stewards directed that the greyhound must perform a Satisfactory Trial before any future nomination will be accepted. Maldini Select was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Acting under GAR 69(1)(a) stewards charged Maldini Select with marring and suspended the greyhound for 28 days at Sale and directed that the greyhound perform a STAT, pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
