Texas Gold was slow out. Cockny Code was very slow out. Endless Pit, Jacarrest, Skinny Mocha and Springvale Jinx collided on the first turn checking Endless Pit and severely checking Texas Gold and Jacarrest. Slick Galore, Skinny Mocha and Springvale Jinx collided approaching the second turn checking Skinny Mocha. Slick Galore and Springvale Jinx collided on the second turn and again on the fourth turn. Jacarrest checked off the heels of Skinny Mocha approaching the finishing line. Cockny Code was vetted following the Event and Dr. Narelle Cribb, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, reported that the greyhound sustained soreness to the left triangle muscle and left pencil muscles. Acting on a recommendation from Dr. Cribb, the Stewards will stand Cockny Code down from competing for 7 days. Stewards spoke to Trainer, Mr. R. Dowler, regarding the performance of Cockny Code this evening. Mr. Dowler stated that the greyhound's racing manners in the initial stages are a trait of the greyhound. He also believed that the rise in class highlighted the greyhound's abilities. Stewards noted Mr. Dowler's explanation.
