Phantom Hope was a late scratching at 6.37pm due to non-arrival. Connemara Marble and Busy Bloke were slow out. Connemara Marble, Charming Havoc and Sayon Jack collided on the first turn. Connemara Marble checked off the heels of Charming Havoc on the home turn, checking Paceon Liz. Paceon Liz eased approaching the winning post. Paceon Liz vetted - NAI. Paceon Liz re-vetted - NAI. Acting under rule 80.2, stewards suspended Paceon Liz for 28 days at Geelong and pursuant to rule 81.1 directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial (all tracks) before again being nominated. Samples were taken from Brookside Bear, the winner of the event.
