Stewards withdrew Lansley Blue from this Event at 6.00 p.m. kennelling time after Dr. Wendy Balmain, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, reported that the greyhound was injured in the right hind leg. Acting in accordance with AGRR 27(2), the Stewards will stand Lansley Blue down from competing for 5 days.
Awesome Thoughts, Basil Brench and Salong Bale were slow out. Basil Brench checked off the heels of Craig West soon after the start. Basil Brench and Salong Bale collided on the second turn. Salong Bale clipped the heels of Basil Brench entering the back straight.
Salong Bale was vetted following the Event and Dr. Wendy Balmain, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, reported that she could find no injury apparent with the greyhound. Stewards directed that a swab sample be taken from Salong Bale, which finished last in the Event in a field of six.
