Steward's Report
Gert The Flirt was a late withdrawal at 5.37 p.m. after the connections contacted the Stewards to advise that they had encountered a float breakdown en route to the track.
Irish Oak was slow out. Golden Freckles, Vitalic and Pre Eminent Lass collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn checking Golden Freckles. Vitalic checked off the heels of Pre Eminent Lass on the first turn. Vitalic subsequently faltered on the first turn and fell.
Vitalic was vetted following the Event and Dr. Michael Bell, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, reported that the greyhound was found to be injured in the right hock. Acting on a recommendation from Dr. Bell, the Stewards will stand Vitalic down from competing for 30 days.
