Steward's Report

Datz Gotem, Lyka Gee Six and Pencil Morgan were slow out. Rusty's Flyer went up with the lids at boxrise and was slow out. Datz Gotem, Lyka Gee Six, Pencil Morgan and Prettyboy Floyd collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking Lyka Gee Six and Prettyboy Floyd. Smurf's Lara checked off Mr. Bohannan on the first turn. Datz Gotem checked off Pencil Morgan on the first turn and raced wide. Pencil Morgan contacted the running rail approaching the home turn and stumbled. Datz Gotem raced wide on the home turn. Ruby's Lucky eased in the home straight checking Smurf's Lara. Ruby's Lucky marred Smurf's Lara approaching the winning post checking both greyhounds. Ruby's Lucky was vetted and after being revetted following event 3, it was reported that there was no apparent injury found. After speaking with the trainer, Mr. D. Brown, Stewards had the greyhound vetted for the third time and it was found to have spike wounds on both hind feet. No stand down penalty was applied. Acting under GAR 69(5), the stewards charged Ruby's Lucky with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury) and directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial at all tracks, pursuant to GAR 69(6), before any future nomination will be accepted.
