Aston Blake crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Dragon Lord and Ebony Virus and severely checking Rocky Roo Roo and Surging Brianna, causing Surging Brianna to stumble, resulting in Rocky Roo Roo and Surging Brianna contacting the running rail. Dragon Lord and Rocky Roo Roo collided soon after the start checking Rocky Roo Roo. Surging Brianna and Claretown Lass collided soon after the start. Real Brew and Claretown Lass collided approaching the home turn severely checking Real Brew. Dragon Lord, Ruby Be Mine and Aston Blake collided approaching the home turn checking Dragon Lord. Real Brew and Surging Brianna collided in the home straight. Ruby Be Mine eased in the home straight.
Real Brew was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the spine, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
