Steward's Report

Max McGuiness was a late scratching at 10:45am due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr P.A. Siakew was fined the sum of $100. A pre race sample was taken from Jasseen. Jessie's Pick was slow to begin. Give Me Dianne, Best Surgeon and Parkfield Pirate collided approaching the first turn, checking Best Surgeon and Parkfield Pirate. Jessie's Pick contacted the running rail approaching the first turn and lost ground as a result. Give Me Dianne galloped on the heels of Go Jessy Go on the first turn checking Give Me Dianne and severely checking Go Jessy Go. Jessie's Pick was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a grade 1 tear to the left tricep and triangle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. The lure cover was not removed prior to the start of the event but became dislodged before reaching the starting position. After viewing the official footage and acting on their own observations, Stewards deemed no greyhound was disadvantage and the "all clear" signal was given. Steward spoke to Mr. C. Chilcott and reminded him of his responsibilities in regards to his duties as Parade Steward.
