Never Ask was quick out. Hell Rider and Why Not Bev were slow out. Blue Water High and Ready To Shine collided soon after the start. Gangbusters and Jimmy Two Hats collided soon after the start. Ready To Shine raced wide approaching the first turn, checking Hell Rider. Tommy Thunder, Never Ask, Blue Water High, Ready To Shine and Jimmy Two Hats collided on the first turn, checking Blue Water High, Ready To Shine, Gangbusters, Jimmy Two Hats and Why Not Bev, severly checking Tommy Thunder which stumbled as a result.
Hell Rider was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury.
Tommy Thunder was vetted and revetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a graze to the left hind leg, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards issued a warning to Mr T. O'Neill, the trainer of Tommy Thunder, regarding the greyhounds racing manner on the second and third turn.
