Steward's Report
Pursuant to GAR 75(6), starter Mr. John Nicholls did not act in any official capacity that may have in any way affected the outcome of this event.
Quick Biscuit, Lyrical Cripps and Hurricane Mist were slow to begin.
Small Demeanour (failed to pursue the lure with due commitment turning into the home straight) underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Trainer Mr. Robert Hayes declined the option to have the greyhound re-examined. Stewards spoke to Mr. Hayes regarding Small Demeanour’s racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Small Demeanour was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Hayes pleaded not guilty to the charge. Small Demeanour was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at the Meadows (first offence) and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
