Steward's Report
Pursuant to GAR 75(6), club official Mr. S. Brincat did not act in any official capacity that may have in any way affected the outcome of this event.
Bun Quake and Hibiki Blue was quick to begin. Bounding Chief was slow to begin.
Interstate Girl (marred by Cannoneer approaching the winning post and subsequently fell) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left long head triceps muscle injury and a spike wound to the right-hind paw. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Cannoneer (marred Interstate Girl approaching the winning post) underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to kennel representative Mr. Matthew Bright regarding Cannoneer's racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Cannoneer was charged with marring. Mr. Bright pleaded guilty to the charge. Cannoneer was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at the Meadows (first offence) and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted. Cannoneer was also ordered to wear an anti–aggression muzzle in all future events in accordance with GAR 131.
