Steward's Report

A pre-race sample was taken from Hadouken.

Tinker Mike was quick to begin.

Tinker Ken (raced wide and contacted the outside fence in the home straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. Craig Burns regarding the racing manners of Tinker Ken. After hearing submissions from Mr. Burns, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, Stewards took no further action.

Stress Test (turned its head outwards in the home straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right gracilis injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed

Stress Test raced ungenerously in the home straight. Stewards spoke to representitive Mr. Peter Inguanti via phone regarding the greyhound's racing manners. After hearing evidence from Mr. Inguanti, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their own observations, Stewards took no further action. In arriving at this decision, Stewards took into heavy consideration the interference occurring to Stress Test's outside and the possible affect this incident would have had on the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Stewards were of the belief that the option to charge Stress Test for failing to pursue the lure with due commitment was open to them, but declined to do so in the belief that this would have been contrary to the intentions and the spirit of the rules.
