Dotti Bloom was slow to begin. Global Lad checked off Allen Gundam approaching the second turn. Allen Gundam and Cambridge Prince collided on the second turn. He's No Jet and Berry Blitz collided approaching the home turn. He's No Jet checked off Cambridge Prince approaching the home turn. Global Lad and Berry Blitz collided on the home turn. He's No Jet tired over the concluding stages of the race.
He's No Jet was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left pencil muscle and right shoulder, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr.P.Carmichael, trainer of He's No Jet, regarding the greyhounds rise in distance in tonights event, compard to it's recent starts. Mr.Carmichael stated that the past two runs over 450m were in a restricted heat and final, and previous to that run the greyhound had ran over 660m. Mr.Carmichael added that He's No Jet has been running over the 545m at Ballarat and in his opinion, the greyhound may be better suited to a middle distance race. Stewards noted his explanation and took no further action.
