A sample was taken from Allen Gundam - the winner of the event.

Stewards spoke to Mr.P.Carmichael, trainer of He's No Jet, regarding the greyhounds rise in distance in tonights event, compard  to it's recent starts. Mr.Carmichael stated that the past two runs over 450m were in a restricted heat and final, and previous to that run the greyhound had ran over 660m. Mr.Carmichael added that He's No Jet has been running over the 545m at Ballarat and in his opinion, the greyhound may be better suited to a middle distance race.
