Steward's Report
Ms Margaret Read was fined $50 for failing to ensure the registration card was produced for Bomber's Lunatic, pursuant to GAR 88.
Ripped Mikado underwent a post–race veterinary examination at the trainer’s request and was found to have a left foreleg dislocated toe injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Rita Maid was galloped on by Ripped Mikado in the back straight and subsequently pulled up, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left foreleg scapula fractrure injury. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards held the All Clear after a gathering of ducks were observed to be walking off the track on the home turn and appeared to distract (6) Piper's Brook rounding the home turn/into the home straight. After reviewing all available video footage and acting on their own observations, the Stewards were not comfortably satisfied that the incident had no effect on the outcome of the race. As such, and pursuant to GAR 110 (5) (c), the event was declared a ‘No Race’. All betting is to be refunded. The weights recorded for the greyhounds are void and do not count for the purposes of the weight rule at the greyhounds’ next start. The event was then abandoned in accordance with GAR 111, with prizemoney to be split evenly between the greyhounds which competed.
