Borough Salts and Happy Buddha were quick to begin. Hondo Lane and Hey Snickers were slow to begin.
Happy Buddha (turned it's head outwards and marred Borough Salts in the home straight), underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to representative, Mr. Josh Duncan regarding Happy Buddha’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Happy Buddha was charged with marring. Mr. Duncan pleaded guilty to the charge. Happy Buddha is suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
