Aqua Morgan and Joe Handson collided soon after the start. Hold On Nitro and Wentworth Bea collided soon after the start, checking Wentworth Bea. Uncontrollable checked off Shifty Jack at the 250m mark. Aqua Morgan eased at the 100m mark and tailed off as a result.
Stewards spoke to Mr B Van de Maat, the trainer of the greyhound Aqua Morgan regarding the greyhounds racing manners at the 100m mark. Aqua Morgan was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right wrist and left and right shoulders, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Aqua Morgan with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr B Van de Maat pleaded guilty to the charge, Aqua Morgan was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
